With Special Guest: Thammika Songkaeo

Visiting from Singapore for one week this October, Thammika will be joining Red Thread Social to share her debut novel that was released this summer: Stamford Hospital. We will hear about her journey on becoming a published author, finding her voice, and sharing her deeply intimate story with the world.

She is not only a nonfiction writer, but also a film producer and owns her own company focused on social and environmental issues. From her Thai origins to her education and studies in the U.S., to living in India, Uganda, Rwanda, and Singapore, we will discuss her cross-cultural experiences and touch on the themes in her book including modern motherhood, mental health, resilience & identity, womanhood & society, sex & marriage, living as an expatriate, and more.

This special event will feature a fireside chat and Q&A, followed by a reflective creative writing session led by Thammika. Lunch will be served afterwards with a chance to receive a signed copy of her book!
